"Christmas Greetings from The Evening News Ass'n to its Employes."

Detroit 1918 Illustr, 7.5 x 5.25, unpag (4pp). Soiled, creased, spotted, small abrasion on front, couple of tiny tears. This Christmas card has a holly and berry design on the front cover, inside printed photos of the executive staff of The Detroit News, i.e., George Booth, president, Wm. E. Scripps, vice president and an "announcement" to the staff. "We are pleased to inform you of arrangements, effective January 1, 1919, to insure for $1000.00 the life of every regular News employee who has been in the continuous service of the paper for at least one year." The details of the plan are listed, the called-for "information blank" is not present. On the back is a photograph of "Our New Home Lafayette and Second, Detroit, Mich." Their new home was built by Albert Kahn in 1916.
