Black & White Original Photo showing the Golden Gate International Exposition on Treasure Island as viewed from the San Francisco Bay.

San Francisco nd (1939) 7.25 x 10, no photographer's name. Light soiling (mainly on the reverse), creased corners, light creasing to photo, small abrasion on front side margin else good. Photo shows part of the Administration Building, Tower of the Sun, Portals of the Pacific, various other exhibition buildings; in the foreground is the tugboat "Richmond" leaving Treasure Island. The Golden Gate International Exhibition celebrated the completion of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay Bridge. All the magical looking structures, with the exception of the Administration Building and two airplane hangars (one of which was the Expo's art building), were torn down after the end of the festivities and became a federal aviation field.
