Order Book for the Martin Carriage Works of York, PA 1910-1911.

York, PA 1910-1911 Illustr, 11.5 x 9.25, thick leather covered boards with metal fasteners, unpag (contents are 1.5 thick). Covers are warped and soiled, scuffed/scraped, two holes on front and back covers (for cords?), contents have light soiling, toning, creasing, small tears, order forms are filled in, notes written across illustr detailing work to be done, a few loose blank order forms else good. Order book is comprised of glossy pages with illustr of various types of carriages and their specs with detailed order forms. Some of the models shown: Runabout, Piano Body Buggy, Superior Corning Buggy, Standing Top Surrey, Package Wagon, New York Milk Wagon, "Jenny Lind," St. Louis Storm Wagon. The M.D. Martin Carriage Works in 1918 became the Martin-Parry Corp. due to a merger with the Parry Mfg. Co. of Indianapolis. The Martin-Parry Co. was bought in 1930 by General Motors and was re-named the Chevrolet Body Division.
