Certificates of graduation from the Armour St. School in Chicago for three membes of the Ungerwitter family, 1888, 1893 and 1894.

City of Chicago, Board of Education. 1888,1893 and 1 The 1888 certificate is oblong 9.5 x 12, with red trimmed green and gold borders with green, red and gilt lettering, wording is "City of Chicago Department of Public Instruction" while the later certificates read "Board of Education of the City of Chicago" are oblong 12 x 15.5 with black lettering on cream colored paper. "1888" has soiling, creasing and missing small piece out of lower margin; "1893" and "1894" have offsetting, spotting, soiling (back of "1894" is heavily soiled), staining, a few small tears. All three Ungerwitters (Emma, Clara and Anton) completed the course of study for the Grammar Department and each was ". . . entitled to Admission to the High School Department." Earliest certificate was hand signed by the principal, president and sup't of schools, on the later ones the president and sup't signatures were printed. Sold as a lot. As is.
