A Sheet of Four $5 Bank Notes from the Peninsular Bank of Detrot, c. 1850s.

American Bank Note Co: NY nd 13 x 8.25 sheet with five brown paper mounting hinges on reverse, darkening at folds, edges browned, bottom blank margin with minor discolor else a striking item. Each bill has vignette of a woman -- representing Commerce -- reclining on a bale, also with smaller vignette of Justice and Wealth, green overprint block "five" and "Secure by Pledge of Public Stock," ornate green engraved back design. Peninsular Bank was open from 1849 to 1870.
