Clipped Letterhead with Lithograph of the plant of the Markham Air Rifle Co. of Plymouth, Mich.

Plymouth nd (1880s?) Oblong 2.75 x 8.5, soiling, creasing, toning, small tear else good. The lithograph shows a massive complex of several buildings, bordered by the railroad on one side. To the right of the lithograph "The Markham Air Rifle Co. Manufacturers of Air Rifles. Plymouth, Michigan, U.S.A." The company started up in the mid-1880s across the railroad track from the Plymouth Iron Windmill Company, the manufacturer of the Daisy Air Rifle. There was heavy competition between the two companies for many years and by 1916, the Daisy executives acquired controlling interest in Markham.
