Passenger List from the Norddeutscher Lloyd Bremen's Nordkapfahrt 1937.

Norddeutscher Lloyd Bremen: Germany 1937 8 x 5.25, pict stapled wraps, unpag. Covers spotted, creased, soiled, wear to spine tips, upper spine tip bumped, very light stain on title page, corners creased else contents good. Booklet lists the ports of call, the crew and passenger names (mainly German) and the travel schedules of their other vessels. Text is in German with very little English translation. Of interest is their "Important Notice." In part "in view of the decree issued by the German Government prohibiting the importation of German notes and silver coins into Germany, all members of our ships' personnel, the stalls, bars and all other places where purchases are made on board have been strictly forbidden to accept Reichsmark notes and German silver coins in payment. The pursers only are authorized to accept German silver coins. . . " Early in the war, the Bremen was taken to Bremerhaven to become part of a planned invasion of England. However, she wasn't able to participate as she was destroyed by fire in 1941.
