Baxter, Anne and Russell Birdwell.

THE GRAVY TRAIN [carbon copy with pencil corrections of the original typescript of this synopsis for a proposed movie].

Los Angeles, CA nd (c 1950s?) 11 x 8.5, self wraps bound with metal clasp, 100 leaves with printing on rectos only, front cover and first few pp toned at foredge, worn, torn at binding, contents well used, back cover also creased at spine, stained, last page with toning. A real mess, though complete and with EXTENSIVE CORRECTIONS, ADDITIONS AND NOTES IN PENCIL BY ANNE BAXTER. ON BACK COVER IS A LONG, BOLDLY WRITTEN PENCIL AUTOGRAPH NOTE FROM ANNE BAXTER TO HER CO-WRITER: "Bird -- Here is a thought. . . What if I and I only mention this because I am searching. . . " etc. The note ends: "What think you? A.B." Unfortunately, the note was scribbled over in pencil, and there is a squarish yellow stain over a few words. Anne Baxter, of course, was the famous Academy Award winning actress. Russell Birdwell was the famous Hollywood press agent. A unique item!
