Farris, Smith & Co: St. Louis. 1887 7.5 x 5, blindstamped pebbled cloth, gilt decorated and lettering, 416 pp. Covers moderately worn, corners and spine tips bumped and worn, spine tips are frayed with small tears, shelfworn, front inner hinge cracked, rear inner hinges starting, whiteout on the first blank page, ink correction on one page, abrasions on rear endpapers, contents clean and good. Dr. Maughs and his wife left St. Louis for NY on July 1, 1884, where they and friends would boards the steamer Rhyneland for Europe. These are some of the many cities they visited: Antwerp, Copenhagen, Carlsbad, Dresden, Berlin, Vienna, Venice, Rome, Lucerne, Geneva, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Belfast, Dublin. As of May 29, 1886 (when the book ended), they were in London watching the celebration for the Queen's birthday. FIRST ED.
