Keystone View Company: Meadville, Pa, St. Louis, Mo. copyright 1899 Oblong 3.25 x 7, tan curved mount, soiled, stained and pencil note on reverse. Image shows two nicely dressed young Black children, a boy and a girl, seated on a blanket on the ground, each holding spotted puppies with two more puppies sleeping on the blanket. Keystone was the largest publisher of stereoviews and dominated the market after the acquisition of Underwood & Underwood and others. B.L. Singley, the founder of Keystone, was responsible for the early views (1892-1894), in 1895 he purchased negatives and by 1897 he had begun hiring photographers.
