Framed Oblong Photograph Showing Masons Posing for a Photo in Detroit's Masonic Temple on the Occasion of Henry Ford Becoming an Honorary 33rd Degree Mason.

Detroit. 1947 B&W, oblong 8.5 x 36.5, wooden frame painted black, glass, back is sealed w/brown paper, two "eyeholes" with wire attached. Light wear and spotting to sides of frame, paper backing has light soiling, chipping, pencil numbers, not examined out of frame. Printed on photograph: "Henry Ford Class Consistory 562 Members Nov. 4 - Nov. 14, 1947" and lists the names of five of the higher ranking masons (The Supreme Council?). A photographic image of Ford is at the top of the photo. In the 1920s Ford became affiliated with the Palestine Lodge, one of the earlier Detroit masonic organizations. In the 1930s, an extraordinary session of the Supreme Council was called in order to bestow the honorary 33rd masonic degree on Henry Ford. This photos of these Masons shows the class that was named after Henry Ford. An interesting piece of history.
