Parkman, Francis.

A HALF CENTURY OF CONFLICT [part 6 of "France and England in North America"] 2 volumes.

Little, Brown & Co: Boston 1892 2 volumes. 8.25 x 5.5, rust colored cloth, 333 pp, 394 pp with index, covers quite worn, extremities bumped and fraying, hinges loose, bookplates else a decent set. INSCRIBED IN VOLUME 2 IS "J. ELLEN FOSTER, WASHINGTON DC, FROM WILL JULY 1898." It is unclear whether the inscription is from Will or Foster, but the form (Foster in upper right corner, rest below and to the left] would suggest Foster. Judith Ellen Foster was the first woman to practice law in Iowa, and was a supporter of various Temperance movements.
