Typed Letter Signed by Henry Ford to George Washington Carver.

Dearborn, MI 1937 One leaf, 10.5 x 7.25, on Henry Ford's letterhead, dated Oct. 14, 1937, folds, minor toning, soiling on reverse else a nice, fresh item. Ford writes to Carver expressing his pleasure at Carver''s interest in Ford's educational ideas (as outlined in a Country Life article): "I hope to have the opportunity of visiting with you sometime this winter." Carver and Ford met n 1936 at the second Chemurgy Conference in Dearborn. For the next several years, they worked together on various projects (including Ford's favorite: soy beans). According to several sources, when Carver became frail, Ford installed an elevator in Carver's Tuskegee home for his friend. Nice, short but historic letter. With original envelope, soiled, worn but complete.
