Membership Cards to the Detroit Motor Boat Club, Detroit Citizens League and The Detroit Board of Commerce belonging to Julius Sumner. Detroit 1913-1924.

Six cards, size ranging between 2.25 x 4 to 2.25 x 3.75, cards have light to moderate wear, creasing and soiling. There are two for the Detroit Motor Boat Club (1913 and 1914), three for the Detroit Board of Commerce (1915, 1919, 1924) and on the back of one is a listing of boards of commerce in other cities. The last card, for the Detroit Citizens League (1913) has printed on the reverse "Our Slogan. Make Detroit life worth living. Our Aim. To promote and uphold upright efficiency in civic affairs. To encourage competent citizens of moral integrity to become candidates and to work and vote for such nomination and election to office in the city of Detroit." Julius Sumner, along with his two brothers, operated Sumner Co. on Michigan Ave., selling furniture, etc. "on time." Sold as a lot.
