Press Packet for the Naming Ceremonies for the S.S. Dykstra. Dearborn, Michigan, May 11, 1966.

Comes with a folder, 12 x 9, four press releases, a brochure (info on the Dykstra and Great Lakes iron ore carriers) oblong 5 x 11, stapled wraps, unpag, five b&w photos: four are 7 x 5, and are of the chairman, Henry Ford II, the former president of Ford, John Dykstra, exec vice presidentof Ford, Charles H. Patterson and the captain of the Dykstra, Gustav Goranson; final photo is 8 x 10 and shows the Dykstra at port with the Rouge Plant in the background. Light soiling and wear, info that was glued to the photos has light creasing and has become detached but is present. Comes with original envelope not addressed and is soiled, worn, torn and stained. The S.S. Dykstra was the sixth vessel in Ford's fleet which operated solely in the Great Lakes and transported iron ore, taconite pellets, limestone and coal to the Rouge complex. Obviously scarce.
