The Roycroft Shop: np (East Aurora) 1900 Title page designed by Louis Rhead, photogravure of Whitman's bas relief, hand illumined initial letters by Clara Schlegel, 9 x 6, patterned flexible boards, top edge gilt, light green grosgrain ribbon attached to side margin of title page, 91 pp. Replacement covers w/original spine lettering affixed to new spine, covers moderately worn, all edges bumped/dented, shelfworn, chipped with small tears, spine tips worn, outer hinges cracked, lacking all pages prior to title page, title page margin chipped, missing small pieces and tape repaired, advertisements for Whitman's books affixed to a front blank page and to rear endpaper along with a Roycroft "advertisement" and a Whitman poem pasted to inside back cover, front inner hinge cracked, a few pages roughly opened, offsetting, scattered light spotting, lacking pages 25-28, ONE OF FIFTY COPIES SPECIALLY ILLUMINED AND SIGNED BY ROYCROFT ILLUSTRATOR CLARA SCHLEGEL.
