Page was a 2nd lieutenant with Company A, Sixth Michigan Cavalry. According to Nevins, Bell & Wiley, this book was an "attempt by an ex-prisoner who was very accommodating toward Confederate captors to rebut other accounts of Wirz." Wirz was in charge of the prisoners. FIRST ED.
