C. Rediston) and price he paid for the book, pencil note, foxing, light staining, spotting, smudging, a few small tears, creased corners, pages 347 - 350 lacking upper corners, plate 11 is missing about half the image, archival repairs to pages and plates. According to Garrison and Morton, Heister, who was the the founder of scientific surgery in Germany, introduced a spinal brace. His work was the most popular surgical book of the 18th century.
