Second Prize Award Spoon from the Wayne County Sportsman Association.

np (Detroit) 1923 Spoon is 5.5 lengthwise and stamped on the reverse of the handle is "J.S. Co. Sterling Pat Apl'd For," minimal decoration. Light scratches else good. Engraved on the bowl "2nd Prize Class B Wayne County Sportsman Assn. 9-9-23." Sporting clubs of the time period usually offered hunting, target shooting, fishing, sailing. In 1925 the president of the association was Orrin A. DeMass, vice president was Frank Kuhn and secretary-treasurer was Wm. J. Paul. (According to 1925-1926 directory: DeMass was a tailor; Kuhn was vp of American Electric Heater Co. (or a grocer or steamfitter); Paul was either a candymaker or a cashier at Recorder's Court.)
