London: Henry Bohn. 1842. 77 of 81 illustrations of which 67 are hand colored lithos and 10 are uncolored etchings, 27 illuminated capitals; 15 x 11.5, 3/4 gilt ruled red leather, raised bands with heavily gilt decorated on spine, gilt ruled black spine label with gilt lettering, marbled boards and endpapers, all edges gilt, 179, 247, 126 pp + glossary + index. Outer hinges cracking (volumes are heavy), an inner hinge cracked in vols. 1 & 2, very shelfworn, boards rubbed and chipped, corners bumped and worn, leather scuffed / scraped, lower spine edge of volume 1 chipped, some wear to page edges, contents have scattered soiling, smudging and spotting, lacking three plates in vol 1 and one plate in volume 3. Despite the wear it is still an attractive set with bright and colorful lithographs and illuminated capitals. "Second Ed, Corrected and Enlarged."
