Printed for John Balfour: Edinburgh nd (1768) Old engraved portrait of Calvert affixed opposite title page, 8.5 x 5, old leather rebacked in leather with red leather spine label, 165 pp, covers well worn but still holding together nicely, contents toned with scattered foxing, pagination skips pp 93-96 but all pp there, still a nice copy of a very famous book. Calvert was acquitted but spent the remaining years of his life on the continent. With a large armorial bookplate of Fairfax of Cameron, possibly Thomas Fairfax, an important property owner in Virginia and a benefactor of young George Washington (he hired Washington to survey his land).
