Steill: London nd (1829) 35 of 36 handcolored aquatints (inclu the double frontis), text illlustr, 9 x 6.5, 19th century polished calf, gilt ruled with gilt decorated inner dentelles, edges and spine, gilt lettering on spine and spine label, top edge gilt, marbled endpapers, 368 pp. Outer hinges cracked and becoming detached, light soiling, spotting and staining, corners bumped and worn, side edges (which extend just over half inch from page edges) are curved inward a bit and upper left rear corner creased, corners bumped and worn, top spine edge bumped, light cuffing to spine, pencil notes on endpapers, light soiling, offsetting from plates, lacking plate opp p. 262 "Dangerous to be Safe" else contents complete and good. This title was the sequel to the immensely popular "Life in London . . . " which was published in 1821. A very attractive volume. FIRST ED. Plate at p. 251 is by George C.
