TRIAL OF THE REV. ALEXANDER FLETCHER, A.M. Before the Lord Chief Justice of the Court of Common Sense, and A Speical Jury. By the Author of the "Trial of the Rev. Edward Irving, A.M."

Knight and Lacey: London 1825 Two aquatints (incl frontis), 8.5 x 5.5, red cloth with 3/4 gilt ruled dark red leather, spine has raised bands with gilt lettering and decoration, all edges gilt, 24 pp. Later binding, covers have wear, soiling and rubbing, corners and spine tips worn, tiny bit of scuffing to spine, scattered light spotting else contents very good. On the spine, below the title of the book is the name "Cruikshank." The lovely aquatints are in the style of Cruikshank, but they are not Cruikshank; the illustrator is anonymous. The book is a satire, showing what would happen if society put Rev. Fletcher on trial; the head of the jury was Sir Walter Scott. An attractive looking book. FIRST ED.
