13th BIENNIAL CONVENTION SOUVENIR INT. BROTHERHOOD OF BOOKBINDERS DETROIT, MICHIGAN JUNE 10th to 16th, 1912.

Detroit 1912 Illustr, 12.5 x 10, wraps, embossed insignia of the bookbinders on front cover, unpag (86pp). Covers torn with some tape repair, corners bumped and peeling, light creasing and soiling, abrasion on front cover, text block becoming unglued at inner hinges but book is still very tight, a few small tears and light smudging else contents very good. Articles relating to the convention plus and article called "Brief History of Detroit" by Milton Carmichael. Some of the photos: Grand Circus Park & Tuller Hotel (convention headquarters); almost a dozen of Belle Isle; downtown area (Campus Martius, City Hall and Bagley Fountain); Palmer Park and Waterworks Park; Riverview Amusement Park. Lots of commercial ads (local and national) and ads for local businesses: Crowley Milner, Pingree Shoes, Hotel Tuller, Stroh Café, Mercy Hospital. Also a listing of Detroit hotels and their amenities. Of interest is a poem by Edgar Guest "In Detroit -- Life Is Worth Living."
