Woodberry & Co: Boston 1907 7.5 x 5, brown cloth, 79 pp. Covers have light wear and soiling, some extremity wear, spine cover wrinkled, covers a bit bowed due to silk thread being left inside in several places, offsetting from thread, light soiling and spotting, signatures a little loose else good. Attached to the Army of the Potomac they participated in the battles of Cold Harbor and Petersburg (plus several others) and were present at the surrender at Appomattox Court House. "The Narrative of Company D . . . the most extensive acount of the service of the regiment" according to the authors of "The First Regiment of Heavy Artillery Massachusetts Volunteers, 1861 - 1865.
