Souvenir celluloid-backed pocket mirror.

Detroit nd (early 1900s Oval 2.75 x 2, celluloid is in blue and cream colors. Spotting to mirror, light wear and scratches else good. In the center are two birds over a shield with a banner over their heads which reads "A Guaranteed Bond with Every Stove; in the shield "Peninsular Furnaces Stoves and Ranges;" below it "Warranted the Best. Detroit Chicago Buffalo;" along the rim "Compliments of the Peninsular Stove Company." In 1903 they were located on Fort Street between 8th and 10th Streets. (Founded in 1861 under the name of J.Dwyer and Co., it was incorporated in 1882 under the current name of Peninsular Stove Company. In 1891 the annual product was 25,000 stoves, ranges, furnaces, heaters, and employed 750 men.)
