Article on "Number of Members of the Various Departments-Young Lady Students-Lecture Courses for the Season.'' There is a list of names of females in these departments: literary (9), medical (15) and pharmacy (2). The two pharmacy students, both from Michigan, have the last name of Upjohn, as does one of the medical students. There are other articles on the diamond fields in South Africa; Elizabeth Cady Stanton, declining a nomination to Congress; Cuba, plus foreign national and regional news and lots of interesting local ads.
