Peninsular Publishing Co.: San Francisco 1906 Illust, 12 x 9, stapled wraps, 46 pp + ads. Covers moderately worn, creased, spotted, soiled, faded (on back), small tears, staples rusty, occas pencil notes and markings, water staining on lower margins, page 3 cut, p 29-30 removed. Approx 20 photos showing San Francisco before, during and after the earthquake. Advertisements for cars, cigars, wine, real estate and insurance companies (several), some of the ads promote new addresses. One of the advertisers, The Pillsbury Picture Company, stated that "Nero Fiddled While Rome Burned We Fotoed While Frisco Burned." (Some of their photos are in this issue.) Most of the articles deal with the disaster, including one written by Brig. Gen. Frederick Funston. Cover illust is of the harbor with San Francisco burning in the background. The earthquake was on April 18, 1906. As is.
