Decatur Co., GA (circa 1836-1837). 12.5x8", folds (very minor chipping) else v.g. The petitioner, William Owen, sues a certain Reuben Meeks for selling him two defective slaves, reading in part: "bargained with the said Reuben to buy of him, a certain male slave named Stephen, 16 years old, fraudulenty warranting the said slave Stephen to be sound in mind and body, in fact the slave was at the time unsound and unhealthy. The said slave afterwards not only became of no value to your petitioner, but Your petitioner was put to great expense of his monies, twelve hundred dollars taking care of and endeavoring to cure said slave, your petitioner also bargained with the said Reuben to buy of him a certain other male negro."
